reduced rate = 90%of x per kg

= X × 90/100 per kg

= 9/10x per kg

quantity of sugar for ₹ 279 at the original rate = 279/X kg

quantity of sugar for ₹279 at the new rate = 279/9/10x kg = 279×9/10

= 251.1 kg

= 279/X - 251.1/X = 6.2

= 6.2 X= 279-251.1

= 6.2 X =27.1

= 4.37 ₹ per kg

reduced rate = 9/10× 4.37

= ₹ 3.933
