Let x be original price of potatoes and y be original amount of potatoes.

Initially,

xy = 240

Finally,

9x / 10 * (y + 2) = 240 x(y + 2) = 240 * 10 / 9

xy + 2x = 800/3

240 + 2x = 800/3

2x = 800/3

2x = 80/3

x = 40/3

x = 13.33R

Solve for y,

13.33 x y = 240 y = 240 / 13.33

y = 18 kg

Reduced price is -

x¹ = x x 9/10

x = 13.33 x 9/10

x' = 12 Rs
