Let the original price of the salt per kg be x.

Given, x - 0.2x = 160/2.5

            0.8x = 64

                x = 80.

The original price = 80 per kg.

Hi !

Reduction in the price = 20 % = 20/100 = 0.2

Original price = a  = ?

A.T.Q.,

a - 0.2a = 160/2.5

0.8 a = 64

a = 64/0.8

a = 80

Original  price = Rs 80

Hope this helps you !
