SOLUTION

GIVEN

A relation R is given by the set

{(x,y)/y=x+3,x belongs to {0,1,2,3,4 ,5)}

TO DETERMINE

The domain and range

EVALUATION

By the given condition

y = x + 3

For x = 0 , y = 0 + 3 = 3

For \:  \:  x = 0 , y = 0 + 3 = 3

For \:  \:  x = 1 , y = 1+ 3 = 4

For \:  \:  x = 2 , y = 2 + 3 = 5

For \:  \:  x = 3 , y = 3 + 3 = 6

For \:  \:  x = 4 , y = 4+ 3 = 7

For \:  \:  x = 5 , y = 5 + 3 = 8

So Domain

 =  \{ \:0 , 1,2, 3 ,4 ,5\}

Range

  =  \{ \:3 , 4,5, 6,7 ,8\}
