5 more days

Let us say that a soldier eats 'n' units of food in a day.

Total ration available = 100 soldiers * 10 days * n = 1000n

In 2 days, 100 soldiers would consume = 100n*2 = 200n

Remaining food = 1000n - 200n = 800n

Number of soldiers = 100 + 60 = 160

Amount of food these soldiers will eat in a day = 160n

Number of days the food will last = 800n / 160n = 5 days

Given : A relief camp has the provision of food for 150 persons for 10 days.

After running the camp for 2 days, 50 more persons were accommodated.

To Find : How many more days can the camp provide food for all the persons

Solution:

provision of food for 150 persons for 10 days.

Hence food available = 150 x 10 = 1500 mandays

running the camp for 2 days

Food consumed =  150 x 2  = 300 mandays

Food remaining = 1500 - 300 = 1200 man days

Noe men = 150 + 50 = 200

more days   the camp provide food for all the persons  = 1200/200

= 6 days

6 more days  the camp can provide food for all the persons
