Saraswati Puja was celebrated with great fervour on 1st February, 2017 at Delhi Public School, Durgapur. All the teachers and students gathered at the school premises to celebrate the day. Puja was offered to the Goddess of Learning by Head Boy and Head Girl of the school, followed by a cultural celebration.All the teachers, staff and students were cordially invited to attend this program. The school campus was beautifully decorated with traditionally made Bandhanwars using marigolds, lotuses, mango leaves and bells.
The program was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Smt. Smita Desai, Divisional Railway Manager by lighting a lamp in front of Lordess Saraswati’s statue.
Students of elementary classes sang Saraswati Vandana in chorus.The fragrance of flowers, the aroma of the burning camphor in lamps and the bright paper designs fluttering under the blue skies filled the school environment with peace and positivity.The program was further executed by conducting various cultural programs. An instrumental tribute was offered by students of secondary classes.A Sloka recitation ceremony was also conducted for the students.
The program was brought to an end by felicitating awards and certificates to participants. Sweets were distributed between them.
