A report is a way of viewing, entering and editing records in a database.
- Forms frequently include command buttons and other controls that carry out different functions. Simply changing your data in the table datasheets will allow you to establish a database without the use of forms. The majority of database users, however, favour using forms to see, insert, and amend data in the tables.
- A record that has been edited will be updated. The data you update a record with will replace the existing data when you edit a record since it is a full object replacement. At times, you might want to update a record by combining new and old data.
- When data types are chosen during the creation of tables and fields, data validation can start. For instance, Access will not accept an invalid format and will display a validation error if a field's data type was set to Currency and a text value was provided in that table field during data entry.
- The most natural way to enter records into a database is usually directly into Datasheet View. This is typical in Access since many Access databases are regarded as single-user databases. Data integrity policies in multi-user databases would deter the majority of users from having direct access to the tables for editing. Therefore, using a form would be the most typical way to add and change records in these databases.
