Magic is a performing art that entertains the audience through seemingly impossible feats conducted by the use of tricks, illusions, sleight of hand, and well practised moves. Since time immemorial, magic has been a source of curiosity and fascination for children.
Staford school focuses on activity based learning, and learning magic tricks is part of the growing up years. To achieve this objective a magic show was organized at Staford School on 25th of April, 2015, for the NIE members under the aegis of The Times of India.
The magician performed several tricks on stage which left the children astonished and mesmerized. He called up a few children and performed astounding tricks with them. He then called two teachers and asked them to write a word on a slate. He took the slates and put them together and the word changed to the tagline “The Times of India No. 1”
He also taught the children a few magic tricks, including a trick with restoring 64 bits of paper into a sheet. The children remained glued to the show till it ended. This helped the children amplify their observation skills and concentration. This show also helped reduce the stage fright in children as they learnt how to conduct themselves on stage. The children had a lot of fun.
