Gold medals aren't really made of gold. They're made of sweat, determination, and a hard-to-find alloy
called guts.
The much awaited Annual Sports Day was held on Saturday 16th March. The fantastic turnout from the
parents and the pleasant weather were the perfect boost for the students on their very first sports day
at the Shiv Nadar School. The students entered into the spirit of the occasion in a grand way with the
oath being administered by the special guest of the day, Mrs Sunita Saini. The Principal, Monica Ma’am
and Mrs Saini also took the salute of the impressive March Past of the Shiv Nadar School students. A peppy dance
drill and an energizing exercise drill set the tone for the rest of the event. Once the races began, the air
was filled with cheering and tons of encouragement for the young athletes. Students of classes 1 to 5
competed class-wise in events including sprints, sack races, obstacle races and three legged races. Fun
time with a shoe race and a tug- of- war between the teachers and parents added to the enjoyment.
The last event, an AHA! Sports Display, showcased the skills and exercises practiced by our young sports
enthusiasts every day. The day ended with our guest, Mrs Saini congratulating the winners with medals
and certificates.

Annual Sports Day is an important event in the life of every school. Sports themselves have a vital role in making a child sound physically as well as mentally.
The Annual Sports Day of our wing (Junior) was held on 5th of November 2013. It was held in the playground of our school. Our Principal, Ms Kusam Warikoo was the chief guest.
The whole playground had been decorated with flags, buntings and balloons a day earlier.
The sports day began with a welcome speech by the Incharge of the Junior Wings, Ms Yousra followed by the March past by class V students.
The chief guest took the salute and then the oath ceremony was held. The event was followed by the hoisting of the flag by our esteemed chairman, Mr Vijay Dhar who declared the sports meet open.
Later a melodious song was sung by a group of students and then an entertaining umbrella dance by class IV students was performed. After that the class III students participated in 100 mtr race, filling the bucket and three legged race. The children who stood first were given medal
