Given:

A resistance coil is made by joining in parallel to resistance each of 2ohm this is connected with a source of 2 volt for 5 minutes

To find:

The heat produced

Solution:

From given, we have,

A resistance coil is made by joining in parallel to resistance each of 2ohm

Rp = (2 × 2)/(2 + 2) = 4/4 = 1 Ω

P = V²/R

P = 2²/1 = 4 W

4 W = 0.96 cal

The heat produced for 5 minutes is equal to

= 5 × 0.96 × 60

= 288 cal

Therefore, the amount of heat produced is 288 cal
