P = V×I

P = 5 × 0.4

R1 = 5 ohms

R2 = 10 ohms

Voltage, pd. = 5V

Current, I1

I1 = V/R1

I1 = 5/5 A

I1 = 1 A

Now, the second resistor is added

I2 = V/(R1 + R2)

I2 = 5/15

I2 = 0.33 A

So, The value has changed.

The difference is 0.67 A.

You might be confused with the fact that Electric current remains same when resistors are connected in series. But, In this case, Another resistor is added and was not initially present. That's why we got two values.
