R combined = 7 ohm

R1 = 5 ohm

R2 = 6 ohm

Number of resistances in parallel = n

R combined = R1 + R parallel

7 = 5 + R parallel

R parallel = 2 ohms

1/(R parallel) = 1/R2+1/ R2+...(n times)

1/(R parallel) = n/6

1/2 = n/6

n = 6/2

n = 3

Therefore 3 resistors are there in parallel.

Hope this helps.
