A resistor of 8ohm is connected in parallel with another resistor x. The resultant resistance of the combination is 4.8ohm.What is the value of x?

Answer:

1/8 + 1/r = 1/4.8

1/r = 5/24 - 1/8

1/r = 5-3/24

r = 12 ohm
