Cases of 24 shirt cost $30/case.

1 case = 24 shirt

24 shirt=$ 30

1 shirt=$30/24

1 shirt=$5/4 [cost price]

Pack of 5=$8 /pack

Cost of 1 shirt=$8/5   [Selling price]

Profit on one shirt=8/5-5/4=$7/4

Let the retailer sells n pack of shirts.

Total profit =$ 84

→7/4 × n=84

→7 n=4×84

→n=4×12

→n=48

Option (B) 48 is correct answer.
