them at ` 250 each. He allows some discount and earns a profit of 28% on the cost

Sales price = cost + profit
Sales price = 250
Since he allowed some discount and earns a profit of 28%
Then He must have sold it on 175 + 175×28/100
= ₹ 224
As he gave discount of certain % on sales price , which is 250 - 224 = 26
He gave discount of 26 on 250
To calculate %of discount
Let the % be = x
26 = 250 × x/100
2600 = 250X
X = 10.4 %
Hence he gave discount of 10.4%
