a reversible heat engine converts 1/4th of heat into work .when temp of sink is reduced by 50degree its efficiency is doubled .find temp of source and sink??

Efficiency of reversible Heat engine is 1-(T2/T1) or Work/Qsupplied (T2 is temp of sink and T 1 temp of source)

Here the efficiency is 1/4= .25

=> 1-(T2/T1) = .25 => T2/T 1= 0.75 => T2= .75 T1

Now temp of sink dec by 50. So T2' = T2-50 = .75T1 - 50

And efficiency doubles => 50% => T2' = .5T1

From above 2, .75T1 - 50 = T1. => .25 T1 = 50 => T1 = 50/.25 = 200

and T2 = .75*200 = 150
