Given,

Measure of one of the diagonals of the rhombus shaped base (p) = 40 m

Measure of the other diagonal of the rhombus shaped base (q) = 50 m

Therefore area of the rhombus shaped base =

 \frac{1}{2}  \times p \times q

 =  \frac{1}{2}  \times 40 \times 50

= 1000 m²

Now,

Given dimension of tile = 2 m × 2 m

Therefore, area of one tile = (side)² (since,length=breadth =2m)

= (2 m)²

= 4 m²

Now,

Therefore, number of tiles required for filling the base =

 \frac{area \: of \: base}{area \: of \: one \: tile}

  = \frac{1000}{4}

 = 250  \: tiles

Answer =

Number of tiles required to fill the base = 250
