a ribbon is 3 meres long Can we cut it into 50 cm pieces and have nothing left over write the reason why or why not

We will have nothing left of the ribbon.

Reason:

3 metres = 300 cm

No. of pieces that can be cut = 300/50 = 6

We get no remainder and hence, there will be no remaining ribbon.

steps are-

3m/50cm=300cm /50cm

6 pieces of 50 cm can be made...

6 is a whole number therefore it can be cut having nothing left....
