A ribbon is 3 metre long can we cut it into 50 centimetre pieces and have nothing left over ? Write the reason why or why not.

1 metre = 100 cm

3 metre = 3 x 100 cm = 300 cm

we have to cut 3 metre into 50 cm so 300/50 = 6 ribbons of 50 cm can be cut from 3 metres of ribbon.
