A ribbon is 3 metres long. I need 8 pieces of ribbon each 40 cm long How many centimetres shorter is the ribbon than the lenght I need?

therefore

3 metres  = 300 cm

8 pieces of ribbon 40cm are required

therefors

the required length = 40 multiplied by 8

therefore the required lenght of the ribbon

=320cm

the difference between the lenght of the ribbon needed and the actual lenght of the ribbion

= 320 - 300

= 20 cm
