Step-by-step explanation:

A right angled triangle ABC at B

\angle B =  {90}^{o}

AB=3.5cm and BC = 2.3 cm

BY PYTHAGORAS THEOREM

 {(hypotenuse)}^{2}  =  {(base)}^{2}  +  {(height)}^{2}

So,

  {ac}^{2}  = {ab}^{2}  +  {bc}^{2}  \\  {ac}^{2}  =  {(2.3)}^{2}  +  {(3.5)}^{2}  \\  {ac}^{2}  = 5.29 + 12.25 \\  {ac}^{2}  = 17.54 \\ ac =  \sqrt{17.54}  \\ ac = 4.188
