let the sides be x m

by Pythagoras theorem

therefore sides = 5 m (each)

We are given that square of hypotenuse is 50 square m.

Hypotenuse^2=Perpendicular^2+Base^2

50=x^2+x^2

50=2x^2

Hence the length of each of its sides is 5 m .
