A right circular cone is 3.6 cm high and the radius of its base is 1.6 cm. It is melted and recast into a right circular cone having base radius 1.2 cm. Find its height.

As the cone is melted and recasted in to another cone, volumes of both the cones are equal.

Volume of a cone = 1/3πr²h  

Let h be the height of the new cone formed.

Now, V_{1} = V_{1}

​⇒ 1/3π×1.6²×3.6=  1/3π×1.2² ×h

⇒h=6.4cm
