Step-by-step explanation:

The total surface area of a cone is the sum of the area of the base and the lateral area:

S

A

=

π

r

2

+

π

r

s

Where:

r = radius

s= slant height

To find the slant height consider the right triangle formed by the radius(base), the height(vertical leg) then the slant height is the hypotenuse so:

s

2

=

r

2

+

h

2

=

5

2

+

12

2

=

169

s

13

c

m

Thus:

S

A

=

(

Answer:

radius of cone =5cm

height of cone =12cm

slant height of cone(L) = √r²+h²

√25+144= √169 =13cm

total surface area of cone = πr(L+r)

= 22/7 × 5 (13+5)

= 110/7(18)

= 1980/7cm²

hope you like it and could better understand from this answer....
