Answer: 1.5 cm rise in water level.

Step-by-step explanation:

Since we know that,

Diameter = 2 × radius

Here, diameter of cylinder = 18 cm and sphere = 9 cm

So Radius of cylinder = Diameter/2 = 18/2 cm = 9 cm

Radius of sphere = 9/2 cm = 4.5 cm

Volume of sphere = \bold{\Longrightarrow{ \frac{4}{3} \pi r^3}} \\ \\ \bold{\Longrightarrow{\frac{4}{3} \times \frac{22}{7} \times {\frac{9}{2}}^3 = 381.85\:cm^3}}

Since volume of water displaced will be equal to volume of sphere, therefore

Volume of water displaced in cylinder = Volume of sphere

22/7 × 9 × 9 × h = 381.85

h = 381.85 × 7/22 × 1/81

h = 1.5 cm

Rise in water level is of 1.5 cm
