Answer:
Diameter of the cylinder,
d = 5.6cm
Cone:
r = 3.2cm, h = 7.2cm,
Volume of cone:
V = πr²h/3
= (3.14)(3.2)²(7.2)
= 231.5cm³
Solid cone is melted & recast into a right circular cylinder. So the volume of cone is equal to the volume of cylinder.
Volume of cylinder:
V = πr²h = 231.5
3.14(9.6)r² = 231.5
30.144r² = 231.5
r² = 231.5/30.144
= 7.678
r = 2.8
diameter of the cylinder,
d = 2r
= 2(2.8)
= 5.6cm
