a right circular solid cone of radius 3.2 cm &height 7.2cm is melted & recast into a right circular cylinder of height 9.6cm .what is the diameter of the cylinder?​

Diameter of the cylinder,

d = 5.6cm

Cone:

r = 3.2cm, h = 7.2cm,

Volume of cone:

V = πr²h/3

= (3.14)(3.2)²(7.2)

= 231.5cm³

Solid cone is melted & recast into a right circular cylinder. So the volume of cone is equal to the volume of cylinder.

Volume of cylinder:

V = πr²h = 231.5

3.14(9.6)r² = 231.5

30.144r² = 231.5

r² = 231.5/30.144

= 7.678

r = 2.8

diameter of the cylinder,

d = 2r

= 2(2.8)

= 5.6cm
