A right triangle with sides 6cm, 8cm and 10cm is revolved about the side 8cm. Find the volume and curved surface area of the solid so formed.

A cone will be formed.
vol. of cone. = 1/3 pie r^2 h
=1/3 × 22/7 × 6^2 × 8
=301.71 cm^3
CSA of cone = Pie r l
= 22/7 ×6 ×10 =188.57 cm^2

when u rotate a rt. angled traingle about its altitude..means altitude is fixed ( it becomes axis) and u rotate the triangle holding its hypotenuse . A cone will be formed
