let the length of the the third side be r
by Pythagoras theorem
q²=p²+r²
r²=q²-p²
=(q-p)(q+p)
=2(p+q)
=2(q-2+q)
=2(2q-2)
=4q-4
by Pythagoras theorem
q²=p²+r²
r²=q²-p²
=(q-p)(q+p)
=2(p+q)
=2(q-2+q)
=2(2q-2)
=4q-4
