Go through your notes you’ll get the formula of acceleration of centre of mass. As the question is to find acceleration of centre of mass (not the derivation of acceleration) I’m solving it straight forward by using the formula.
1 in 10 means sinθ = 1/10
β = k^2/r^2
For ring, β = 1
Acceleration of centre of mass = gSinθ/(1 + β)
= (9.8 m/s^2 × 1/10) / (1 + 1)
= 0.49 m/s^2
(4) is the correct option.
