A ringing alarm clock is placed in vaccum. why will you not be able to hear its ticking sound​

Reason:

Sound travels in form of longitudinal waves which requires a medium. In daily life this medium is air;this is because it is the molecules of air (medium) that vibrate to transfer the sound. In case of vaccuum, there are no molecules. Hence, due to the absence of a medium we are not able to hear the clock's ticking sound.
