A river 3 m deep and 40 m wide is flowing at the rate of 2 km per hour. How much water will fall into the sea in a minute?

Flowing rate of the river = 2 km per hour

therefore, the flowing rate of the river in meter per minute will be

\frac{2 X 1000}{60} or \frac{100}{3}100/3 m / minute  

let us assume the length to be 100/3

width be 40 m

height be 3 m

hence the river is in cuboidal shape  

vol. of the river be l x b x h

or 100/3 x 40 x 3

or 4000 m³

or 4000000 litres
