It can be solved using vector addition.

The velocity of stream can be given as -4 j cap + 0 i cap

The velocity of boat can be given as 0 j cap + 3 i cap

Resultant vector = 3 i cap -4 j cap

|A| = √(3² + -4²) = 5 m/s
