2km/hr = 2×5/18=5/9m/sec
so in minute volume of water in sea would be
volume ×time
3×40×5/9×60=4000m cube.

Water falling into the sea will be the Volume of the water flowing per hour.
Volume = Area * Velocity.
Given :

3m deep
40m wide
rate = 2km/hr
So now change km into m.
rate = 2000m/hr
Area = 3m * 40m = 120m²
so now,
Volume = 120 * 2000 = 240000 m³/hr
Water fell into the sea in a minute = 240000/60 = 4000 m³/min
