Given,

The width of the road = 10 metres

The area of the park = 314 m²

To find,

The area of the road.

Solution,

Let, the radius of the park = r metres

[ Assume, r as a variable to do the further mathematical calculations.]

Area of the park = πr² m²

According to the data mentioned in the question,

πr² = 314

r² = 314 × 7/22

r² = 100 (approx.)

r = 10

The radius of the park with the road = (10+10) = 20 m

The area of the park with the road = π × (20)² = 22/7 × 400 = 1257.14

Area of the road = (1257.14 - 314) = 943.14 m²

Hence, the area of the road is approximately 943.14 .
