The road is 2.5 meters on each side of the square, so it would form a larger square 20m x 20 m (2.5 m road + 15 m garden +2.5 m road).

The area of this larger square (20 m)(20 m)= 400 sq meters

The area of the garden (middle of larger square) is (15 m)(15 m)=225 sq meters

400 sq meters total-225 sq meters garden=175 sq meters of road

ANSWER

the area of the road is 175 sq meters.

area of square = 15×15

=225

length of square road = (15)+2(2.5)

=20

Area of square road =20×20

=400

we know that

area of road =Area of square road - Area of Square

= 400 - 225

= 175
