Answer:

Let r and R be the radius of the inner and outer circle respectively.

Circumference of the inner circle = 44 m

2πr=44

=>2×227×r=44

=> r = 7 m

Width of the road = 3.5 m

Radius of the outer circle R = 7 m + 3.5 m = 10.5 m

Area of the road = π(R2−r2)

=227[(10.5)2−(7)2]

=227(10.5−7)(10.5+7)

=227×17.5×3.5

= 192.5 m2

Rate of paving the road = Rs 50 / m2

Cost of paving the road = 192.5×50=Rs. 9625
