given , length of road = 4 km 800 m

= 4000m+ 800m = 4800 m

given interval = 9.6 m

trees planted on one of road

= 4800 / 9. 6 = 500 trees

trees planted on both sides of road

= 2 × 500 = 1000

therefore , 1000 trees were planted on both sides of the road.
