a road is 8 m wide. Its radius of curvature is 40 m. The outer edge is above the lower edge by a distance of 1.28 m. find the velocity of vehicle for which the road is most suited

Explanation:

formula for calculating the velocity of vehicle is

h = l*sin Ф

As sin X is nearly equal to tan Ф;

we know that

h = 1.28m and I is 8 m .

So ; h= l*tan Ф

       1.2 = 8* tan Ф

      Tan Ф = 0.15

Now v= Square root (r g tan Ф)

Putting vales;

V= square root (40*10*0.15)  this will result in the velocity . which is

V= 8 m/s  

so the answer will be 8m/s
