Answer:

Given,

width of road = 3.5 m

radius of garden (without road) = 14m

radius of a garden (including road) = (14 + 3.5)m

= 17.5 m

Therefore,

Area of garden (including road) = π r^2

= 22/7 × 17.5^2 sq. m

= 22/7 × 17.5 × 17.5 sq. m

= 22 × 2.5 × 17.5 sq. m

= 55 × 17.5 sq. m

= 962.5 sq. m

Therefore,

Area of garden (without road) = π r^2

= 22/7 × 14^2 sq. m

= 22/7 × 14× 14 sq. m

= 22 × 2 × 14 sq. m

= 44 × 14 sq. m

= 616 sq. m

Answer :- Area of the road = ( 962.5 - 616) sq. m

= 346.5sq. m

Therefore,

Circumference of the garden = 2 π r

= 2 × 22/7 × 14 m

= 2 × 22 × 2 m

= 88 m

If the cost of fencing 1 m garden is ₹ 70

Then, the cost of fencing 88 m garden is = ₹ (70 × 88)

= ₹ 6160

Answer :- The cost of fencing the garden is ₹ 6160
