Given:

A road roller with a radius of 1.4 cm makes 10 revolutions.

To find:

The total distance covered by it.

Solution:

The radius of the road roller, r = 1.4 cm

No. of revolutions the road roller makes = 10

We know,

Circumference of the roller = 1 revolution made by the roller

∴ The circumference of the road roller = 2\pi r = 2 \times \frac{22}{7} \times 1.4 = 8.8\:cm

Now,

The total distance covered by the roller is,

= 10 × [The distance covered in 1 revolution]

= 10 × 8.8

= 88 cm

Thus, the total distance covered by the road roller is → 88 cm.

Given : A road roller of radius 1.4cm makes 10 revolutions.

To Find : total distance covered

Solution:

Distance covered in one revolution = Circumference

Radius = 1.4 cm

Circumference = 2π (Radius)

π = 22/7

=> Circumference = 2(22/7)(1.4)

=> Circumference = 8.8 cm

Distance covered in one revolution = 8.8 cm

=>  Distance covered in 10 revolutions = 10 * 8.8  = 88 cm

The total distance covered by it.  = 88 cm
