Given : A road roller of radius 1.4cm makes 10 revolutions.

To Find : total distance covered

Solution:

Distance covered in one revolution = Circumference

Radius = 1.4 cm

Circumference = 2π (Radius)

π = 22/7

=> Circumference = 2(22/7)(1.4)

=> Circumference = 8.8 cm

Distance covered in one revolution = 8.8 cm

=>  Distance covered in 10 revolutions = 10 * 8.8  = 88 cm

The total distance covered by it.  = 88 cm

ANSWER

Given,

  • Radius (r) of a road roller = 1.4 cm.
  • Revolutions = 10

To Find,

  • The total distance covered by it.

Solution,

Distance covered in 1 revolution = Circumference

→ Circumference = 2πr

→ Circumference = 2(22/7)(1.4)

→ Circumference = 8.8 cm

Now

Distance covered in 1 revolution = 8.8 cm

Distance covered in 10 revolutions = 8.8 × 10 = 88 cm

Therefore, the total distance covered by it is 88 cm.
