A road roller takes 500 complete revolutions to move once over to level a road. Find the area of the road if the diameter of a road roller is 84 cm and length is 1 m. STEP BY STEP

Answer:

Curved surface area of the roller * 500 revolutions = area of the road

Curved surface area of a cylinder = Circumference of cylinder * length

= πd * l

= 22/7 * 84 * 100cm ( 1m = 100cm )

= 22 * 12 * 100cm

= 264 * 100

= 26400 cm² or 2.64 m²

Area of road = curved surface area * no. of revolutions by the rolller

= 2.64 m² * 500 revolutions

= 1320 m²

Therefore area of the road = 1320 m²
