A road tanker carrying an acid was involved in an accident and its contents spilled on the road. At the side of the road, iron drain covers began melting as the acid ran over them. A specialist was called to see if the acid actually leaked into the nearby river. The word *'melting'* is incorrectly used in the report. Auggest better that should have been used
(a) reacting (b) corroding (c) fizzing (d) melting itself is appropriate

Hey, here us your answer

Corroding is correct.
As when acid ran over the iron ,it actually corrode it.

Hope it helps:)

Hi,

The word melting is incorrect , the correct word is corroding ,

However it is to be noted that the drain covers also fizzes because when acid reacts with iron hydrogen gas is liberated.

Thanks
