a rock dropped on the moon will increase its speed from 0 m/s (its starting speed when first dropped) to 4.9 m/s in about 3 seconds. What value do you caculate for the magnitude of the acceleration of gravity on the moon?

V= u + at

4.9= 0+ a×3
==> a= 4.9/3= 1.63 m/s
1.63  \: m  \:  \: per \: s {}^{2}
