Dear Student,

◆ Answer -

dm/dt = 180 kg/s

◆ Explanation -

For the rocket to move with acceleration a, thrust required is -

F = m(a+g) ...(1)

To provide this thrust, let dm/dt be rate of ejection of gas.

F = v(dm/dt) ...(2)

From (1) & (2),

m(a+g) = v(dm/dt)

dm/dt = m(a+g)/v

dm/dt = 6000 × (20+10)/1000

dm/dt = 180 kg/s

Therefore, rate of ejection of gas should be 180 kg/s.

Thanks dear...
