Given info : Rohan added 30 grams of milk in 120 grams of water.

To find : the concentration in the term of mass by mass percentage of the mixture.

Also write one property of this Mixture.

Solution : concentration of milk (w/w %) = mass of milk/mass of solution × 100

= 30g/(120g + 30g) × 100

= 30/150 × 100

= 20 %

Therefore 20% of milk is present in the solution by mass.

Milk and water is a colloidal solution. So sometimes, mixture of milk and water seems as homogeneous but sometimes it seems as heterogeneous.

Explanation:

Given Info:

Rohan added 30 grams of milk in 120 grams of water.

Therefore, Solute is milk=30 grams.

Solvent is water=120 grams.

And solution =Solute+Solvent =30+120=150 grams.

To find:

a) Mass by mass percentage of the mixture.

b) Write one property of this mixture.

Solution:

mass of solute/mass of solution ×100

30/150×100=20%.

Hence milk is present in 20% by mass.

It has the property to show tyndall effect as the particles size of a colloidal solution is between 1<100 nm.
