Answer :

Given :

The pictorial representation

The distance from the point of the position of the old lady to her home in different turnings with different measurements

To find :

a) Rohan wants to give lift to an old lady anddrop her home. Find how much distance he has to cover?

b) What value do you learn from Rohan?

Solution :

From the pictorial representation

we have,

The measurements are 1/2 km , 5/2 km,

7/3 km , 6 km , 6/5 km ,4/7 km and 1/2 km

Rohan wants to give lift to an old lady anddrop her home.

So , The distance covered to lift her to home

=> Sum of all the measurements

=> (1/2)+(5/2)+(7/3)+(6)+(6/5)+(4/7)+(1/2)

=> [(1/2)+(5/2)+(1/2)]+(7/3)+(6)+(6/5)+(4/7)

=> [(1+5+1)/2]+(7/3)+(6)+(6/5)+(4/7)

=> (7/2)+(7/3)+(6)+(6/5)+(4/7)

LCM of 2 , 3 , 5 , 7 = 210

=>[(105×7)+(7×70)+(6×210)×(6×42)+(4×30)]/210

=> (735+490+1260+252+120)/210

=> 2857/210

Total distance he has to cover 2857/210 km

 \\a) \: we \:  should \:  take \:  all \:  distance \:  positive   \\ \\  \:  total \:  distance =  \frac{ 1}{2}  +  \frac{5}{2}  +  \frac{7 }{3}  +  \frac{6}{1}   +  \frac{6}{5} +  \frac{4}{7} +  \frac{1}{2} \\  \\ LCM= 210 \\  \\  =  \frac{105}{210} +  \frac{525}{210} +  \frac{490}{210} + \frac{1260}{210} +  \frac{252}{210} +  \frac{120}{210} +  \frac{105}{210}         =  \frac{2857}{210} km
