A roller coaster has a velocity of 10 m/sec at the top of the hill. Two seconds later it reaches the bottom of the hill with a velocity of 20 m/sec. What is the acceleration of the roller coaster?

We have given that ,

              u = 10 m/s at the top

              v = 20 m/s at the bottom

     Now time taken is 2 s to reach the bottom,

              t = 2 s

First equation of motion is ,

              v = u + at

Now , putting the values in above equation , we get ,

              20 = 10 + 2a

           => 2a = 10

           => a = 5 m/s² (Ans.)
