Given:

Initial speed = 25 m/s

Final speed = 10 m/s

Time taken = 3 seconds

To find:

Acceleration of the coaster.

Solution:

We know that one of the equations of motion is:

v = u + at

Where v is the final speed, u is the initial speed, t is the time taken and a is the acceleration.

On substituting the values in the formula, we get:

10 = 25 + 3a

On simplifying the equation, we get:

3a = 10 - 25

On further simplifying, we get:

3a = 15

Thus the value of acceleration will be:

a = -5 m/s²

Thus the acceleration of the coaster is -5 m/s².
