Nectar is the name of the liquid.

According to the Roman mythology roses grew when Cupid was carrying Nectar (drink) to the gods on Mt Olympus. The mythology says When the Cupid spilled the Nectar and from that spot roses grew. So Nectar can be described here the drink of Roman Gods like ambrosia as food.
